Sainte-Geneviève

Population: 3,302 (December 2000)
Area: 1,24 km2

This beautiful, historic municipality is surrounded by Pierrefonds. Sainte-Geneviève's population is French-speaking for the most part. The town borders on Rivière des Prairies, where some of the oldest stone houses on the island are located. The church in the centre of town is over a century old. This small town is now the home of the French CEGEP Gérald-Godin, which opened in September 1999.

Mostly residential, with shops along the main thoroughfare of Gouin Boulevard, Sainte-Geneviève offers residents a mix of accommodation from old stone houses to modern townhouses with all the conveniences.
